Built in 1847 one of the oldest houses in Windermere, the Cottage guest house is a careful blend of the modern with the traditional. All the rooms have recently been refurbished and have either feature or Four Poster bed. Choose from our extensive award winning breakfast menu of 12 individual dishes. All cooked fresh to order from the highest quality local produce (vegetarians well catered for) and served in our spacious dining room.The world famous Lake Windermere and the shores of Bowness bay are only a leisurely twenty minute stroll. Directions

f you are travelling by car from the South, come off the M6 at junction 36 (signposted South Lakes). Follow the Windermere signs along the A591. On entering Windermere you will see the Windermere Hotel on your right. Go on for approximately 150 yards and take the second turning on the left into Elleray Road. The entrance to The Cottage Guest House car park can be found on your left approximately 100 yards aheadIf you are travelling from Scotland, the road from Penrith along Ullswater and over Kirkstone pass is a most scenic introduction to the area. At the bottom of the pass turn left at the mini roundabout and travel about half a mile into Windermere. Elleray Road is the first main turning on the right (signposted for Bowness).
